Finsceal Beo headed to Coronation
Trainer Jim Bolger has ended speculation as to the next start of dual classic
heroine FINSCEAL BEO (Mr. Greeley), committing the filly to the Coronation S.
(Eng-G1) at Royal Ascot. Michael Ryan's English (Eng-G1) and Irish (Ire-G1) One
Thousand Guineas winner will stay at a mile for the June 22 contest.
"Finsceal Beo is very well since The Curragh," Bolger told the Racing Post.
Bolger also announced that his Poule d'Essai des Poulains (Fr-G1) and Irish
Two Thousand Guineas (Ire-G1) runner-up CREACHADOIR (King's Best) will target
either the June 20 Jersey S. (Eng-G3) or St James's Palace S. (Eng-G1) on the
previous day.
"Creachadoir's work has been very good and we think that he has improved
again from the Irish Two Thousand Guineas," he added. "We have him in the Jersey
as well as the St James's Palace, but we just thought, the way he's going at
home now, he could be in there with a good chance in the St James's Palace."
Also headed to Royal Ascot is Terry Neill's Lockinge S. (Eng-G1) scorer RED
EVIE (Intikhab), who is on course for the Queen Anne S. (Eng-G1). Trainer
Michael Bell reported that the four-year-old, who added the Lockinge to a record
that already included last year's Matron S. (Ire-G1), to be firing ahead of her
June 19 test.
"She's in very good form," Bell told PA Sport. "She looks like being the only
girl to take on the boys, but she did it well last time. If she was to do well
at Ascot, there are races like the (August 1) Sussex S. ([Eng-G1] at Goodwood),
but we will just take it one race at a time. If we decide to keep her to the
fillies' races, there is always the likes of the (July 11) Falmouth S. ([Eng-G1
at Newmarket) and the (September 8) Matron S. (Ire-G1] at Leopardstown) -- there
are plenty of options."
