Patricia Generazio's homebred DON SIX (Wild Escapade) earned an easy early

lead in the $109,400

Gravesend H. (G3) at Aqueduct on Sunday, and from there

they were all running for second. Trained by Scott Lake and ridden by Mike Luzzi,

the four-year-old broke sharply, setting solid splits of :22 4/5 and :45 1/5 and

was never seriously threatened, stopping the teletimer in 1:08 4/5 for the six

furlongs. Sent off at 5-1 odds, the dark bay gave back $12, $6.90 and $4.60

while topping the $44.80 exacta and $164.50 trifecta (3-1-2).

Mr. Whitestone (Dance Brightly) made a wide move entering the turn to reach

contention, but could do no better than second, 1 1/4 lengths back. The gelding

paid $4.40 and $3.40 at 7-2. Papua (Louis Quatorze) gained third on the inside

another half-length back at 7-1, worth $3.90. Gators N Bears (Stormy Atlantic),

the 4-5 choice, tired to fourth and was trailed by Black Silk (GB) (Zafonic) and

Eavesdropper (Kingmambo), while Ameri Brilliance (Ameri Valay) and Uncle Camie (Abaginone)

were withdrawn. 

Don Six earned his fourth stakes win to date, three of which have come this

year, and moved his career mark to 23-8-5-3 with earnings of $412,183. He owns

black type scores in the Mo Bay S., Floor Show S. and Vincent Moscarelli

Memorial H., with placings in the Bay Shore S. (G3), Toboggan H. (G3) and Jersey

Shore Breeders' Cup S. (G3).

The winner was bred in the Sunshine State and produced from the unraced

Concorde's Beauty (Concorde Bound). He was preceded in stakes glory by his

half-sister, the multiple-stakes winning Stacey Tracey (Trick Me).
