Inglis Melbourne ends on a high note

The final session of the Melbourne Premier Yearling sale concluded Tuesday with record results for both average and aggregate figures. Following on the

heels of a successful round of action during the first two days of the Premier

sale, the second Premier session realized an average of A$30,406, up by 23

percent over last year's figures.

Topping the final session was Lot No. 532, a filly by General Nediym who was

purchased by South Australian trainer Tom Dabernig. Out of the Jeune mare Noble

Glow, the bay was consigned by Glentree Downs.

"I reckon she's a lovely type and I was prepared to wait until the last day

for her," Dabernig said. "My uncle Peter Hayes trained the filly's dam, Noble

Glow, and she won five races for him, so we're quite familiar with the family."

Leading the colts was Lot 522, a chestnut by first-crop sire Lago Delight.

Purchased for A$75,000 by R. Yui of Hong Kong, the colt hailed from the Belbay Party consignment.

"We couldn't be happier with the results from both the first and second

sessions of the 2007 Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale," said Inglis

Director, Peter Heagney. "Each session has achieved record averages and

aggregates, proving once more that Melbourne attracts both quality bloodstock,

and certainly in this year's case, a large number of buyers from throughout the

globe."
