TRACK BANDIT PREVIEWS

An impressive 2 3/4-length romper in the October 31 Iroquois S. (G3),

ASTROLOGY (A.P. Indy) will look to add a second straight graded stakes under the

Twin Spires to his ledger in the $150,000 Kentucky Jockey Club (G2), and he

doesn't appear to be facing the stiffest competition in Saturday's 1 1/16-mile

event. The Steve Asmussen-trained colt recorded a commendable 95 BRIS Speed

rating when going a one-turn mile last time, and he's bred to relish the

additional ground. With little speed in the field, Astrology will likely be

forwardly placed again under jockey Garrett Gomez, and we won't go against the

promising individual.

SANTIVA (Giant's Causeway) is a logical threat based upon his runner-up

finish in the Breeders' Futurity (G1) last time. He's still a maiden, but the

bay colt has placed in all three starts and appears to be entering this event on

the upswing. The two-turn specialist will probably need to show more tactical

speed than he displayed on Keeneland's Polytrack last time, but he looks to be

training forwardly in preparation for Eddie Kenneally and is eligible to sit a

much better trip this time. He offers some appeal at longer odds with Shaun

Bridgmohan.

CANE GARDEN BAY (Rockport Harbor) finished a head second when making his

career debut on Saratoga's main track and rolled to a 1 1/2-length maiden score

last time out at Keeneland. The versatile colt is candidate to keep improving

for Rusty Arnold, and leading rider Julien Leparoux will retain the mount. Cane

Garden Bay will look to make an impact from just off the pace.

HALO'S THUNDER (Thunder Gulch) offered a decent rally for fourth when trying

dirt in the Iroquois last time and is bred to thrive at longer distances. We

have a lot of respect for Kenny McPeek with juveniles and can't dismiss this

colt's chances completely. However, his BRIS Speed numbers are a little light

and the bay is probably best used on the bottom of the exotics.

MAJOR GAIN (More Than Ready) has raced exclusively on synthetic tracks for

Wayne Catalano, winning the Arlington-Washington Futurity (G3) prior to a fifth

in the Breeders' Futurity, and he was supposed to run in the Breeders' Cup

Juvenile Turf (G2) before being sidelined by a minor illness. We'll just watch

to see how he handles the surface change. Calder invader ENABLE (A. P. Warrior)

appears to be in too deep here. PRIDEOFTHECHAPTER (Strong Hope) hasn't run fast

enough in three starts for us to recommend.
