TRACK BANDIT PREVIEWS

A field of six will head to the gate for the 12th running of the $150,000

Lazaro Barrera Memorial S. (G2) at Hollywood on Saturday. STORM WOLF (Stormin

Fever) comes into the seven-furlong contest in good form, winning his last two

outings by a combined 14 1/2 lengths. In both of those races, the Bruce Headley

trainee produced triple digit BRIS Speed figures. Although the dark bay colt

will stretch out an extra furlong here, he figures to do well. Jockey Alex Solis

has the call.

RANSOM DEMANDED (Meadowlake) comes off a failed try on the turf and returns

to the main track where he has seen most of his success. The chestnut has two

starts under his belt on the Inglewood, California, dirt, hitting the board on

both occasions, including a win while breaking his maiden in his juvenile

season. Conditioner Christopher Paasch will lift Alex Bisono into the saddle.

HIGH STANDARDS (High Brite) also exits a run on the turf where he finished a

close fifth in the Harry Henson S. at Hollywood, two spots behind fellow entrant

DOVER DERE (Cherokee Run). That outing was High Standards' only run off the dirt

and his only career loss in five starts. Trainer Martin Jones now brings the

gelding to the surface on which he has prospered and the chestnut should show an

improved effort under jockey Garrett Gomez.

POSITIVE PRIZE (Prized) is coming off a more than eight-month layoff and will be

making his first start for trainer Roger Stein. Despite these two intangibles,

the gelding cannot be left out of the mix, producing wins in four of his five

career starts, including the Gottstein Futurity and W.T.B.A. Lads S. His BRIS Late Pace

ratings are among the highest in the group, which could prove beneficial given

the early speed in this field.

Dover Dere returns to the sprinting ranks after three attempts at routes and a third in the Harry Henson. The colt has seen mediocre success in his

career, hitting the board eight times over both surfaces at various distances,

but trainer Doug O'Neill just can't seem to find his niche. Your call. THIRSTY

GUY'S (Kahuna Jack) has been training well in the mornings for conditioner Phil

Oviedo, but the gelding might be outmatched in his first test of the stakes

waters.
