Black Saddle Stables, Kagele Brothers Inc. and Mark Leib's SUPAH BLITZ (Mecke) concluded Monday's $300,000

Lone

Star Park H. (G3) in exciting fashion with nose in front of a four-horse photo finish.

Trained by Doug O'Neill, Supah Blitz was content to sit in third while

Yessirgeneralsir (Patton) carved out fractions of :23, :45 and 1:08 4/5. The

five-year-old moved four wide on the second turn under jockey Jon Court and took

over at the top of the stretch, holding off Cryptograph (Cryptoclearance) and

Absent Friend (Runaway Groom) in a blanket finish to complete the 1 1/16-mile

affair in 1:41 4/5 on a track labeled good.

Supah Blitz returned $7.20, $4.20 and $3.40 as the 5-2 second favorite, while

Cryptograph paid $7.60 and $5 at 9-1, ending the $56 exacta. Absent Friend left

the gate at 10-1 and gave $5 for show, rounding out the $347.80 trifecta.

Even-money favorite Lion Tamer (Will's Way) hit the wire a nose back to finish

the 1-10-2-4 superfecta which paid $866.

High Strike Zone (Smart Strike), Wishingitwas (Sandpit [Brz]), Snorter

(Awesome Again), Majestic Thief (Mahogany Hall), Yessirgeneralsir and Skip and

Go (Skip Away) concluded the order of finish.

This was Supah Blitz's first win over the Lone Star main track in his third

attempt. He improved his record to 38-8-13-5 and increased his earnings to

$1,319,210. The dark bay was bred in Florida by Bee Bee Stables & Equitor Inc. and is out of

the Grade 3 winning mare Boots 'n Jackie (Major Moran). He counts himself as a

full brother to an unnamed yearling filly.
