Louisiana horsemen, Churchill come to agreement on Fair

Grounds signal

Officials of Churchill Downs Inc. (CDI) and representatives of the Louisiana

Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association (LAHBPA) have come to an

agreement on the distribution of live racing signals from Fair Grounds to

national advance-deposit wagering (ADW) platforms. The agreement covers the

upcoming 2008-09 meet at Fair Grounds, which begins on Friday.

"We are pleased to come to terms with our Louisiana horsemen on an agreement

that will allow the Fair Grounds signal to be shared with national ADW outlets,"

said Austin Miller, president of Fair Grounds. "We are delighted to have Fair

Grounds racing available on TwinSpires.com and other online wagering platforms,

and we hope our customers enjoy wagering on this excellent product."

Fair Grounds' signal will be available via a variety of national ADW

providers, including TwinSpires.com, XpressBet and Youbet.

"Since the inception of TwinSpires.com, we have supported open content

sharing among the national ADW companies," said Kevin Flanery, senior vice

president of CDI. "We are pleased that racing fans will be able to wager on Fair

Grounds' upcoming race meet on some of the most popular national ADW platforms,

including TwinSpires.com, XpressBet and Youbet. The Fair Grounds meet was also

made available to TVG, which unfortunately declined to accept the signal under

the terms negotiated and approved by Louisiana horsemen."

Details of the agreement were not disclosed.

The 87-day meet at Fair Grounds opens Friday. Wagering will be available

through TwinSpires.com and other ADW outlets beginning on opening day and

continuing through the close of racing on March 29, 2009.
