Around 24 hours after the top three finishers in the Kentucky Derby (G1) duke it out in the Belmont (G1), a slew of Derby also-rans square off in the $400,000 Matt Winn (G3) back at Churchill Downs.

One day after Dornoch in the Belmont (G1), trainer Danny Gargan’s other Derby also-ran, Society Man, likewise bounced back in the Matt Winn (G3) at Churchill Downs.

At one stage of Sunday’s $400,000 Matt Winn (G3) at Ellis Park, 1.12-1 favorite Disarm appeared to inherit sire Gun Runner’s distaste for the slop.

Most recently fourth in the Kentucky Derby (G1), Disarm will renew rivalry with three other Run for the Roses participants in Sunday’s $400,000 Matt Winn (G3).
