Saturday's $150,000 Miami Mile Breeders' Cup H. (G3) attracted an overflow of

15, but only 12 will be allowed to start over Calder's turf course. HOTSTUFANTHENSOME (Awesome Again) just missed last time in the 1 1/2-mile Pan

American H. (G3) at Gulfstream Park and cuts back to a more favorable distance

here.

Trained by Norman Pointer, the seven-year-old gelding captured the 1

1/16-mile Tampa Bay Breeders' Cup S. two starts back in his seasonal debut.

Hotstufanthensome displayed excellent class while knocking heads with the likes

of Miesque's Approval and Ashkal Way (Ire) (Ashkalani) over middle distances

last year, and he's posted triple-digit BRIS Speed ratings in four of his last

five starts. He's entering the Miami Mile in top form and rates top billing.

CAN'T BEAT IT (Atticus) will be running late. One of five runners for Marty

Wolfson in the field, the Grade 3 winner didn't fire last time at 1 3/8 miles,

but he's one-for-one at a mile and should receive the perfect set-up with all

the speed in the field. A two-time victor over the course, Can't Beat It will be

able to save ground from his post (4) and will attempt to make his presence felt

in the stretch with jockey Eddie Castro.

CLASSIC CAMPAIGN (Rahy) is another dangerous deep closer, but we are

concerned with the far outside post. The Bill Mott charge has been earning

strong BRIS Late Pace numbers and enters this event in top form, recording a

3-2-0 mark in his last six outings. He'll likely be rolling late.

ELIZABUL (Eltish) recorded a smart win over allowance/optional claiming

rivals when making his 2007 debut last time, and we wouldn't be surprised to see

the four-year-old keep moving forward for Wolfson. He didn't draw a good post

(11) in this spot, but Elizabul still looms as a top threat.

PARADISE DANCER (Langfuhr) could cut out a favorable stalking trip and merits

respect for the exotics. The seven-year-old gelding remains winless on the turf,

but he's hit the board five times and enters this event in good form. JET

PROPULSION (Double Honor) does his best running on the front end and owns four

wins over the course. The Danny Hurtak runner can't be completely dismissed from

consideration, but there's plenty of other speed present to soften him up.

ELECTRIC LIGHT (Silver Ghost) is another front runner with some talent. He'll

probably revert to rating tactics while stepping up in class here, but we'll

just watch to see how fares. GIANT WRECKER (Giant's Causeway) recorded a nice

win in the Canadian Turf H. (G3) three starts back, but he's been off the board

in his last two outings. The Mark Hennig trainee is eligible to bounce back with

an improved showing here, but we'll take a stand against him at lower odds.

TOUCHED BY MADNESS (Sword Dance [Ire]) shows up with a top effort sometimes,

but he's very inconsistent. He probably needs an easier spot to be effective.

GIGAWATT (Wild Again) will seek his second straight running of the Miami Mile,

but his form has been bad in his every start since recording an upset at 29-1

last year. MENDING FENCES (Forestry) will show speed from the rail, but he'll

likely face too much pressure. Anticipating this scenario, Wolfson indicated

that he could scratch. MANCHU PRINCE (Gone West) will be making his

first start under the direction of Wolfson, but we can't recommend his chances

based upon his most recent efforts.

REHOBOTH (Wagon Limit), FANCY SILVER (The Silver Move) and NACASCOLO (Rahy)

are all on the also-eligibles list and would face a difficult assignment if they

draw into the race.
