The 2024 racing season at Churchill Downs became even more historic for trainer Kenny McPeek and jockey Brian Hernandez Jr. on Friday when they teamed up to capture the 150th edition of the Clark (G2) with the five-year-old Rattle N Roll.

Trainer Brad Cox has two legitimate chances to take down the $600,000 Clark (G2) over 1 1/8 miles at Churchill Downs on Friday with Hit Show and Most Wanted.

The $600,000 Clark (G2) has often showcased up-and-coming three-year-olds for much of its 149-year history, Gun Runner, Will Take Charge, and Blame being recent examples.

Hitherto a stakes bridesmaid, Proxy wore down West Will Power to win his first trophy in Friday’s $750,000 Clark (G1). Jockey Joel Rosario swept both graded stakes on the Churchill Downs card, previously steering Bubble Rock to victory in the $300,000 Mrs. Revere (G2).

Already enshrined in the annals of Churchill Downs as an 80-1 upsetter of the Kentucky Derby (G1), Rich Strike can add to his historic legacy in Friday’s $750,000 Clark (G1) at the Louisville track.

Although the least experienced of the six fillies in Saturday's $200,000 Mrs. Revere Stakes (G3) at Churchill Downs, Princess Grace proved an old pro.
