Last seen fading to an uncharacteristic 12th in the Godolphin Mile (G2), Saudi Crown returned triumphant in Sunday’s R.A. “Cowboy” Jones S. at Ellis Park.

Godolphin’s homebred First Mission chased the pacesetting T O Saint Denis for most of Friday’s $730,000 Alysheba S. (G2) at Churchill Downs and cruised home to a commanding four-length win.

A year and a half after rallying to victory in the 2022 Blue Grass (G1), four-year-old Zandon returned to the winner’s circle with a blowout victory in Sunday’s $400,000 Woodward S. (G2) at Aqueduct.

It’s safe to say trainer Chad Brown enjoyed a banner Saturday at Monmouth Park. Horses hailing from the Brown barn won four of the day’s five graded stakes.

Along with undefeated Jack Christopher in the Haskell (G1), trainer Chad Brown has leading contenders in all the graded stakes on the undercard at Monmouth Park on Saturday.

Trainer Todd Pletcher already has the best three-year-old miler in the country in Life Is Good, but will have the quality backups Americanrevolution and Following Sea primed to go instead in the $750,000 Cigar Mile H. (G1) at Aqueduct on Saturday.
