Super Freaky eyes Valley View
California invader SUPER FREAKY (Smart Strike) will carry top weight of 123
pounds in Friday's $150,000 Valley View S. (G3) at Keeneland. Trained by Doug
O'Neill, the dark bay filly won the Providencia S. (G3) on April 7 at Santa
Anita, then finished second in the Senorita S. (G3) and Honeymoon Breeders' Cup
H. (G2). After a fifth-place effort in the San Clemente H. (G2), Super Freaky
finished third in the Del Mar Oaks (G1). She comes off a better-than-appears
ninth in the Senator Ken Maddy H. (G3) on opening day of the Oak Tree at Santa
Anita meet. Rafael Bejarano, currently the leading rider at the Keeneland meet,
picks up the mount.
Other contenders include Alcibiades S. (G2) heroine BEL AIR BEAUTY (Smart
Strike), who is exiting a third-place effort behind champion Dreaming of Anna (Rahy)
in the Pucker Up S. (G3) at Arlington Park; Appalachian S. winner AUDACIOUS
CHLOE (More Than Ready), who set a new course record in the 1 1/16-mile Little
Silver S. on June 9 at Monmouth Park; and BACHATA (Kingmambo), who set a new
course record in the 1 1/8-mile Twin Light S. on September 2 at Monmouth Park.
The field for the Valley View, a 1 1/16-mile turf event for three-year-old
fillies, in post position order, with jockeys and weights, consists of LONG
