Island Fashion (Petionville) looked like the winner turning for home as she

sat third off the quick pace, but she was just short on this day. The classy

five-year-old was sent off at 14-1 odds and paid $9.80 and $4. Andujar sat rapid

splits up front and fought valiantly to the wire, falling just

three-quarters-of-a-length shy of the place. The favorite gave back $2.20 for

show. Santa Candida (Arg) (Espaciado) completed the $1,220.40 superfecta ($1) at

72-1 and was trailed by Hollywood Story (Wild Rush), Healthy Addiction (Boston

Harbor), Casty (Mex) (Valiant Nature) and I Can Yodele (Swiss Yodeler), while

Tucked Away (Unusual Heat) was withdrawn.

Splendid Blended moves her mark to 6-4-1-0 with earnings of $519,900. The

lass was victorious in the Hollywood Starlet S. (G1) two prior and also owns a

placing in the Oak Leaf S. (G2).

The winner was bred in Florida and produced from the unraced Valid Blend

(Valid Appeal), making her a half-sister to multiple Grade 3 hero Richly Blended

(Rizzi), as well as an unraced two-year-old half-brother named Well Blended (Red

Ransom).
