Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas had raved about how much Secret Oath was thriving ahead of her four-year-old bow in Saturday’s Azeri (G2), and Briland Farm’s homebred backed up his assessment with a good-looking win at Oaklawn Park.

After the disqualification of strong favorite Just Might in the Duncan F. Kenner S., the upsets continued in Saturday’s turf stakes at Fair Grounds. Pass the Plate got up to pay $19.20 in the Marie G. Krantz Memorial, and Forty Under furnished $34.80 in a Col. E.R. Bradley S. thriller.

Along with three dirt stakes anchored by the Lecomte (G3), Fair Grounds offers a trio of $100,000 turf stakes Saturday making for a total of six on a terrific 14-race “Road to the Derby Day.”

Jockey Reylu Gutierrez continued his hot hand by riding four winners on the Monday card at Fair Grounds, led by a stakes triple.

The favorites in the three leading open stakes at Parx on Tuesday figure to be strongly backed.
