Trainer Mark Glatt wasn’t exactly thrilled when Dr. Venkman drew the rail in Saturday’s Pat O’Brien (G2) at Del Mar, but the post ended up being a blessing in disguise.

Much of the pre-race discussion going into Saturday’s Seabiscuit (G2) focused on Redistricting, but it was another on the comeback trail, Mi Hermano Ramon, who stole the show at Del Mar.

Re-routed from last weekend's Pennsylvania Derby (G1) in order to face California's best older horses in Saturday's $301,500 Awesome Again S. (G1) proved the right move for Medina Spirit, who buried the opposition while stamping his ticket to next month's Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) at Del Mar.

Launching a perfectly timed move for leading rider Flavien Prat, Dr. Schivel snared Saturday’s $301,500 Bing Crosby S. (G1) and a free berth to the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) back at Del Mar.
