Three graded stakes are slated at Belmont Park on Sunday –  the Beldame (G2), a stepping stone to the Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1); the Futurity (G3), a “Win and You’re In” for the Juvenile Turf Sprint (G2); and the Knickerbocker (G3).

Bernardini, a classic-winning champion on the racetrack who carved out an influential career at stud, has been euthanized at the age of 18.

The Stephen Foster S. (G2) and Fleur de Lis S. (G2) are the main events on a dynamite 12-race closing day program at Churchill Downs on Saturday.
