In a battle between three Grade 1-winning male sprinters from last year, Book'em Danno got the better of Mullikin to take the $400,000 True North (G3) at Saratoga on Saturday.

Saratoga has been the scene of some of the best moments in the racing careers of Fierceness and White Abarrio, who highlight a small but very select field in the $1 million Metropolitan H. (G1) on Saturday.

Saturday’s Belmont S. (G1) at Saratoga undercard featured a pair of graded sprints on the main track, the $500,000 Woody Stephens (G1) for three-year-olds and $350,000 True North (G2) for older horses.

Reigning champion sprinter Elite Power ran his current win streak to seven races, and his unbeaten stakes mark to four, with a solid-looking 1 3/4-length tally in the $250,000 True North (G2) at Belmont Park on Saturday.

Firenze Fire's love of Belmont Park proved too much for his competitors to overcome as the six-year-old turned in a successful title defense of the $300,000 True North S.

Firenze Fire will break from the rail in his title defense of Friday's $300,000 True North S. (G2), a 6 1/2-furlong dash that counts as one of six victories the Grade 1-winning six-year-old has made to the winner's circle in nine outings over the Belmont Park strip. The Kelly Breen charge prepped for this with a 3 1/4-length score in the May 8 Runhappy (G3).
