After a trio of second-place efforts earlier in the Fair Grounds meet, Beatbox earned a well-deserved victory Saturday in the $175,000 Fair Grounds (G3).

In addition to the quartet of juvenile stakes at Fair Grounds, the Santa Super Saturday card offered opportunities for the older brigade as well. Chief among them was Grade 1 veteran Two Emmys.

Lael Stables’ Arrest Me Red pulled clear in the stretch to earn a 1 3/4-length victory in Friday’s $500,000 Twin Spires Turf Sprint S.

Along with three dirt stakes anchored by the Lecomte (G3), Fair Grounds offers a trio of $100,000 turf stakes Saturday making for a total of six on a terrific 14-race “Road to the Derby Day.”

Fair Grounds standouts Just Might and Chess Chief were among the shining stars during Sunday's stakes-packed card at the New Orleans oval.

Before the inaugural Gun Runner S. and Untapable S. for aspiring Kentucky Derby (G1) and Oaks (G1) candidates, Fair Grounds will stage four stakes on the terrific Sunday, Dec. 26 card.
